We are home!

Monday Feb. 9

Sally, John and I are finally home.  We have been traveling for 37 hours.  We are tired and in desperate need of showers. It truly was a trip that tested our endurance and our faith.

At 7:14 am today, John and I were running to catch up with Sally. Her bags came off the luggage thing first so we told her to go on ahead and tell them to hold the plane that would take us from Houston to Chicago. When we got to the gate, they had already closed the door and would not let us on the plane. I thought I was going to cry! I had to practice my LAUGH in the bathroom otherwise the airport security may have taken me away!

It helped!

Once again we were calling Carrie with the Good News - Bad News - Sally is on the plane and John and I are still in Houston! John and I started praying that we could get on the next plane at 9am. We were on stand by - they only had one seat. We said no it is both of us together. Last minute they had someone who no showed so we were able to get on. Carrie was such a welcome sight when we got into the luggage claim area. John and I both were able to sleep on the drive back to the Fox Valley.

After all of this I can still say this was a wonderful experience and I could not have traveled with a better group of people. We truly formed a team and had to depend on each other. We are all looking forward to sharing our photos and our experience with all of you. Watch for future opportunities.

Thank you to all who send comments and all the prayers! God truly had a plan for us and now we will assist him in that plan.

Bernardine
